SPECIFICATIONS and TEST RESULTS

• Indentation Resistance: tested according to the ASTM 1037 standard (Janka Ball Hardness). It showed an average hardness of 1640. (27% harder than Red Oak and 13% harder than Rock Maple).
• Flammability: tested according to the ASTM E648 standard (Critical Radiant Panel Test). It was graded as CLASS I for the NFPA "Life Safety Code". (It may be used in all classes of buildings).
• Smoke Density: tested according to the ASTM E622 standard. It passed with a score of 450 or under, it passed with 269 for flaming mode and 329 non-flaming mode.
• Abrasion Resistance (only for pre-finished floorings): The flooring was found not to be affected by the following chemical agents:
  - Acetic Acid (5%), Acetone Ammonium Hydroxide (10%), Toluene
  - Detergent Solution Ethyl Alcohol (50%), Hydrochloric Acid (10%), Turpentine
  - Heavy Duty (0.025%), Hydrogen Peroxide (3%), Soap Solution (1%), Sodium Hydroxide (1%)
• Dimensional Stability: tested following the standard procedure for wood flooring. It gave a size variation coefficient of 0.00144
• Slip Resistance: tested according to the ASTM D2047 standard. It gave a friction coefficient of 0.71
• Compressive Strength: tested according to the ASTM D3501-86 A standard. The following results were recorded:
  a) Parallel to the grain = 531 Kg/cm2
  b) Perpendicular to the grain = 181 Kg/cm2
  c) Flat-wise = 1,191 Kg/cm2 at 50% strain. (Loaded to compress to half thickness).
• Bending Strength: tested according to the ASTM D3043-87 standard. It gave a result of 958 Kg/cm2
• Bending Elasticity Modulus: 66,390 Kg/cm2
• Shear Strength: tested according to the British Standard # 373. It gave a result of 96 Kg/cm2 parallel to the grain.
• Tensile Strength: tested according to the ASTM D3500-90 A standard. It gave a result of 1,076 Kg/cm2 parallel to the grain.
• Humidity content: Standard GB13123-91. Result: 9.0 %
• Density: Standard GB/T4897-92. Result: 0.66 g/cm3
• Breaking Modulus: Standard LY1055-91. Result: 96.9 Mpa
• Elasticity Modulus: Standard GB13123-91. ResulT  7.6x10 Mpa
• Bonding Strength: Standard LY1055-91. Result 5.04 Mpa

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Bamboo parquet does not deplete the Earth’s natural resources for the following reasons: it is a grass, it completely grows back in just three years after harvesting and it regenerates without assistance.
